In order to provide a great service, you need great people. That is why we are incredibly selective and cautious when it comes to our recruitment process. All potential candidates go through a three-tiered screening process before then being selected, oriented and trained by our Human Resources and Development Manager, Jeff Shlanger. Jeff has a Masters in Industrial and Organizational Psychology and several years of experience in the human resources field. He has been with Rent-a-Son since 2009.

Attitude before ability.

We always seek out "sons" with relevant experience but all the moving experience takes a back seat to a candidates personality and attitude. We are more than open to hiring physically capable individuals who show that they can be caring, polite and respectful because of our mover training program. All of our movers, regardless of experience, are put through a dynamic in-class and practical mover training program designed to equip our staff with the knowledge and tools to safely move and protect all household goods.

Our main responsibility when we arrive at your home is to look after the work that was requested. That often isn't enough for the typical "son". The people that we hire, tend to have an inner-drive to go above and beyond the call of duty.
